As a Caregiver / Shower Aide, you are a vital member of our clinical team. Your primary focus is ensuring our residents feel clean, refreshed, and comfortable through high-quality personal hygiene care. Key Responsibilities
- Specialized Hygiene Care: Assist residents with scheduled showers, tub baths, or bed baths according to their personalized care plans.
- Grooming & Dressing: Provide assistance with hair care, shaving, nail filing, and dressing in clean, appropriate attire following the shower.
- Skin Monitoring: Conduct thorough skin checks during the bathing process; document and immediately report any redness, rashes, or skin breakdowns to the Wellness Director or Charge Nurse.
- Memory Care Support: Utilize the "Positive Approach to Care" to support residents with dementia, ensuring a calm, safe, and dignified bathing experience.
- Safety & Transfers: Safely assist residents with transfers in and out of shower chairs or bathtubs using proper body mechanics and assistive devices (e.g., Hoyer lifts) as required.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of completed showers and ADL (Activities of Daily Living) tasks in the facility’s electronic health record system.
- Environment Maintenance: Ensure shower rooms are kept clean, sanitized, and stocked with necessary supplies (towels, soaps, etc.) before and after use.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Certification: Current HCA (Home Care Aide) or CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification in Washington State preferred. (We may offer on-the-job training for the right candidate).
- Compliance: Ability to pass a DSHS background check and drug screen.
- Skills: Strong communication skills and a "resident-first" attitude. Experience in Memory Care or Assisted Living is a significant plus.
- Certification: Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs and assist with resident transfers.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching in a wet environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
