Job Description
The Surgical Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of patient care in various departments, including SDS, PACU, ENDO, CSR, and Operating Room. This role ensures continuity of care by evaluating patient needs, assessing, planning, intervening, reevaluating, documenting, observing, and comparing to established standards.
The Surgical Services Manager provides oversight to High-Level Disinfection and Sterilization procedures according to both manufacturer instructions and evidence-based guidelines. Additionally, they evaluate, assign, and coordinate nursing activities to ensure patient care, staff relations, and efficiency of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and organize patient care in various departments
- Evaluate patient needs and assess, plan, intervene, reevaluate, document, observe, and compare to established standards
- Provide oversight to High-Level Disinfection and Sterilization procedures
- Evaluate, assign, and coordinate nursing activities
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing, with a Master's Degree preferred. You should also have two to five years of nursing experience and previous management experience.
You will be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. You should also be able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients, families, employees, regulatory agencies, or community.
This role requires exposure to Class I conditions as classified by OSHA.
