This opportunity is open due to internal promotion! In this role, your typical activities will include:
- Interview and hire potential employees for all positions in the dining services department.
- Train new hires in areas of their respective position as well as the rules and expectations.
- Coach and give directions and feedback to employees as they work in their positions.
- Create bi-weekly schedules managing time off requests and tracking absenteeism.
- Create and write weekly production sheets for required workload for staff.
- Assist with menu changes as needed.
- Plan both small and large resident functions as requested.
- Identify and resolve issues pertaining to food quality and temperatures.
- Change schedule as needed for the good of the department.
- Assist Director of Dining with budget development and cost control.
- Assist Director of Dining with developing and maintaining policies and procedures.
- Assist Director of Dining with needed forms, checklists and quality assurance forms.
- Assist new employees in following established facility policies and procedures.
- Participate in Dining Services Department and facility education programs and complete assignments.
- Participate in Dining Services and other facility meetings as assigned and scheduled.
- Perform other related duties as directed by the Director of Dining Services.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Minimum three 3 years’ experience in food service management.
- Must have working knowledge of computers and Microsoft suite.
- Must have ServSafe Certification.
- Knowledge of long-term care procedures and requirements is a plus.
- Knowledge of foodservice software is a plus.
- Certified Dietary Manager credential is a plus.
- Catering experience is a plus.
