WellBe Senior Medical is an innovative, private equity backed healthcare company focused on providing the highest quality geriatric care (care of older adults) to Medicare Advantage patients with multiple chronic medical conditions. This population is typically underserved and very challenged with access to quality care. To address these problems, WellBe brings the care to the patient, instead of trying to bring the patient to the care. WellBe's physician-led geriatric care teams provide “concierge” level geriatric medical care and social support in the home as well as delivering and coordinating care across the entire continuum – from chronic and urgent care in the home, to hospital, assisted living, and end of life care.
JOB SUMMARY
This is a unique role at an innovative, fast-growing, private-equity backed healthcare company. You will be responsible for administering a full range of accounting operations including but not limited to accounting research, revenue recognition calculation and execution, calculation of complex expense accruals, lease accounting, monthly close and financial statement preparation, and general accounting process improvement. As a main point of contact for the accounting function, this role will have exposure to all internal departments including field operations, IT, clinical development, and marketing. Since WellBe is a young company with a lean accounting & finance staff, this role will have significant opportunity for long-term professional growth and development.
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily and monthly accounting activities (e.g., recording journal entries, G/L and bank account reconciliations, monthly close) for WellBe including all consolidated entities
- Ensure revenues, expenses and balance sheet items are recorded in a timely and accurate manner, and in accordance with GAAP
- Utilize the G/L and reporting systems to effectively record transactions and assist in the preparation of monthly internal financial statements
- Perform technical accounting research as needed for new, complex agreements and transactions
- Maintain summaries and accounting analyses of significant agreements the company enters into, including the key terms and payment information
- Review and implement changes in accounting procedures and account reconciliations to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Support accuracy of internal management accounting by ensuring appropriate allocation to entities and departments as well as assist in identifying and implementing potential improvements
- Assist with annual budgeting, audit, and tax return requests, as well as with budget updates and ad hoc reporting requested by management
- Take on additional responsibilities as the business continues to grow
Job Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited university majoring in accounting and/or finance
- Certified Public Accountant
- At least four years of accounting, auditing, or bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products, primarily Excel
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including balancing multiple deadlines
- Detail-oriented
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
- Self-starter and ability to work independently
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with NetSuite accounting software
- At least two years of accounting or auditing experience in public accounting
- Experience in healthcare industry

OTHER
- Supervisory Responsibility: This role has no direct reports
- Travel Requirements: Travel may be required up to 10% locally or nationally
- Work Conditions: Ability to lift up to 20lbs. WellBe is currently working in-person in the office.
