What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Clinician - Child Outpatient position at Wellmore, Inc.?

Background 

The Senior Clinician is responsible for direct services to children, adolescents, and their families in the Child Outpatient program of Wellmore Behavioral Health.  Services include but are not limited to evaluation/assessment, case and care management; individual and family therapies; crisis intervention.  You will maintain accurate and timely record keeping; work in collaboration with other professionals, team members and related community services (including consultation and/or community and/or school placements); and program management/supervision. 

The Senior Clinician assists in the supervision, development, and implementation of assigned programs, services, and staff.  

Example of Responsibilities 

1.    To provide comprehensive evaluations, treatment plans, and treatment of children, adolescents, and families (population is program specific). 
2.    To implement treatment plans that may include psychotherapy and clinically required support services including but not limited to translation, transportation (only as per agency policy), advocacy, and linkage to other needed services according to program placement.
3.    To provide community-based outreach, case management, and/or treatment services as defined by the treatment plan and/or client need, in a variety of settings including but not limited to: agency offices sites, client homes, schools, emergency rooms, shelters, police stations, etc.
4.    Maintain confidential and/or any other required program documents.
5.    To supervise assigned staff and/or interns.
6.    To assist the Team Leader (Program Manager) and/or designated Director in the day-to-day clinical and administrative management of assigned programs.
7.    To assist in program development, grant writing, marketing, and community outreach.
8.    To work collaboratively as a member of a team with other professionals and concerned parties involved in cases.
9.    To assist in the organization, marketing, planning, and implementation of the program.
10.  To serve on agency and/or community committees.

Requirements 

  • A Master’s degree in marriage and family therapy or social work and a Connecticut license as a Marriage and Family Therapist, Professional Counselor or Social Worker, or a doctorate in psychology and a Connecticut license as a Psychologist is required.  (LMFT, LCSW or LPC).  
  • Two years of post-graduate clinical experience working with children, adolescents or families is required, four years of experience is preferred.   
  • Experience providing clinical supervision and the necessary credentialing from NASW, AAMFT or the APA (or a similar credentialing body that approves supervisors or supervisors in training, status, etc.) may be required.   
  • Experience in group and family therapies as well as the implementation of evidence-based practices is also preferred.   
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
