Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Financial Crimes Specialist to join the International Investigations Group. Learn more about the career areas and business divisions at wellsfargojobs.com. The Senior Financial Crimes Specialist will be responsible for analyzing and manipulating large amounts of information to discover patterns and trends. They must be able to take high level initiatives and prioritize and break them down to areas for analysis. The successful candidate will be able to identify, research, gather information ultimately leading to analysis and a written report. The successful candidate will be able to partner with different lines of businesses and other internal teams to get a better understanding of how these trends and patterns are occurring and to make more accurate recommendations. This team primarily focuses on investigating cases involving international activity related to issues and trends in financial crime affecting Wells Fargo customers.
In this role, you will:
Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within functional area and contribute to large-scale planning related to functional area deliverables.
Investigate, research, examine, and report complex financial crimes transactions, policy violations and suspicious situations with high levels of risk.
Perform risk evaluation and modeling to provide input and recommendations for financial crimes strategies and models.
Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls.
Conduct data and onsite reviews, review findings, determine risk level and recommend resulting fraud prevention strategies.
Perform investigative research, root cause assessment and consulting regarding highly complex financial crimes transactions, policy violations and suspicious situations with moderate to high risk.
Perform detailed examination to detect transactional and relationship patterns, trends, anomalies and schemes across multiple businesses or products.
Act as an escalation point for more complex cases.
Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet deliverables.
Partner closely with leadership to develop strategies to minimize financial crime portfolio risk through innovative methods with the ultimate goal of maximizing profits.
Provide leadership within the team.
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
Lead projects, teams or serve as a mentor for less experienced staff.
Develop and deliver a wide range of training for individuals involved in issue detection.
Interact internally and externally to conduct investigations or to address risk management.
Required Qualifications, US:
4 years of Financial Crimes, Operational Risk, Fraud, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery, Corruption experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
3 year of International AML Investigations.
4 years of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) / Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) experience.
Knowledge and understanding of financial crimes investigations.
Knowledge and understanding of Anti Money Laundering (AML) and terrorist financing regulations and programs.
WF AML/Sanctions Credential and/or ACAMS Certifications.
Previous experience writing and reviewing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
Experience presenting communication to Sr. Managers, business leaders, stakeholders, etc.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities.
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills.
Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment.
Ability to write concisely and clearly.
Experience in using bank systems including Financial Crimes Platform (FCP), Hogan, Store Vision Platform (SVP), Operation Image Browser (OIB), Newton, and Prevent.
Strong research and documentation skills.
Good analytical skills including analyzing complex data.
Solid creative and strategic thinking skills.
Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).
Wells Fargo AML/Sanctions Credential (WFAMSC).
Experience in, and comprehension of, multiple Wells Fargo lines of business, products and/or services is strongly desired.
Knowledge and understanding of Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) compliance.
