General Summary
Supervises the day-to-day operations of their assigned Patient Access department. Monitors and supervises the department specific workflows in accordance with organizational policy. Monitors and supervises the work activity of assigned staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Ensures that the department functions run efficiently and effectively by overseeing day to day functions, scheduling staff and expediting problems.
- Ensures accurate financial and demographic information has been obtained and properly entered into the appropriate records.
- Coordinates with medical/clinical and administrative staff to ensure appropriate arrival, registration, and pre-service responsibilities of patients and compliance with third party payers and other regulations are complete.
- Supervises Patient Access department responsibilities.
- Develops, revises, and maintains area specific policies and procedures, evaluates and monitors goals and objectives, promotes LDMS standards for process improvement and quality assessments, and monitors safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Promotes the active engagement of all employees and supports recognition of staff accomplishments.
- Investigates and follows up on SRS/CRS and reports from patients and department concerns, auditing when necessary.
- Oversees the reporting process for their assigned Patient Access department. Resolves errors, exceptions and unreconciled items promptly.
- Plans, conducts and supervises assigned projects.
Common Expectations:
- Selects, trains/orients, assigns staff, evaluates performance on a monthly/quarterly and annual basis, prepares and/or assists with work schedules, provides training and continuing education of staff and initiates/makes recommendations for personnel actions.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
Work Experience:
- 2 years Supervisory experience. Required

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, supervisory and computer skills.
