Position Summary:
Performs a broad range of laboratory work requiring application of professional judgment in the selection of specialized methods and techniques, and their application to specific tasks.
Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
Understands the application of the scientific method to experimental design and problem solving; applies knowledge and experience to solve a variety of laboratory problems; communicates results, problems, and progress to supervisor- Schedules own activities in accordance with assignments and priorities; detects problems in routine procedures caused by instrument difficulties, or in reagent preparation and/or handling; suggests modifications in protocols and/or methods.
- Understands general requirements and approach for completion of broad objectives. May be required to define intermediate objectives
- Schedules specific tasks, performs tasks and analyzes data; provides input in the interpretation of data; collates results, prepares reports and assesses progress relative to objectives
- Maintains accurate, precise, and legible laboratory notebooks; writes reports and communicates progress periodically
- Achieves broader professional judgment and experience through periodic training and continuing scientific literature review
- Able to handle broad assignments and objectives involving multiple tasks; applies experimental design principles; recommends improvements in routine analytical methods
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Min Knowledge & Experience required for the position:
- Education: Knowledge acquired through a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
- Experience:
o Master’s plus 1 year of relevant experience
- Additional Skills/Knowledge:
o Duties require broad use and application of scientific principles, theories and concepts in field of expertise.
o Must demonstrate the ability to perform all duties and responsibilities higher than Scientist I level.
