About myself and the caregiving job:
I’m a fun and lively 24 year old psychology graduate with a master's degree in clinical psychology. I have muscular dystrophy and use a power wheelchair for mobility. I attended Cal Lutheran University and now live with family in Ventura, CA.
I am looking for a female caregiver to work three shifts per week on Wednesdays from 7AM-7PM, Saturdays from 8AM-7PM, and Sundays from 8AM-7PM (34 hours total per week).
My caregiver will need to sign up with In-home supportive services (IHSS) and total pay after being supplemented will be $20.00/hr. Reliability and communication skills are critical to this job.
This caregiving job is in a comfortable and enjoyable environment. The days can be busy but there is usually some downtime/personal time. I hope to meet you soon!
Job Responsibilities Include Providing Assistance With:
- Showering
- Dressing
- Toileting
- Administering medication
- Meal preparation
- Light housekeeping
- Picking up medications and groceries
- Transportation via wheelchair van
- Accompanying me on errands, outings, and adventures
- Other basic activities of daily living
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age
- 6 months of caregiving experience
- Able to speak fluent English
- Able to independently transfer 60 lbs
- Valid driver’s license and comfortable driving a van
- Able to pass a LiveScan background check
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Highly Dependable
- Vaccinated for COVID-19 and the flu (or ability to get vaccinated)
