West Central Equipment is the John Deere Agriculture and Turf Equipment Dealership in Central and Western Pennsylvania. We sell, service and supply parts for John Deere tractors, skid steers, ag equipment, lawn & garden mowers, zero-turn mowers, Gator utility vehicles, implements and related equipment. We are currently searching for an Integrated Solutions Intern to work at our Ebensburg location.
Purpose:
Provide consulting services, expertise, and training for the sale and support of solutions enabled by the John Deere Precision Ag strategy and other aligned technology and applications. Ensures ongoing Precision Ag mainstreaming and works with all dealership departments to sell and support precision farming products and services.
Responsibilities:
Assist the current Integrated Solutions consultant in the following ways 2-3 days per week:
- Support customers in the field with all precision ag platforms on planters, sprayers, combines, and nutrient application equipment.
- Assists in leading the organization in the area of John Deere and Ag Leader precision farming products
- Ensures understanding of John Deere and Ag Leader Precision Ag solutions in sales, service, parts, and all other departments
- Implement the adoption of new technology and product offerings
- Help perform customer training for John Deere Precision Ag solutions and advanced precision farming products
- Provides solutions-based business consulting services to customers (i.e. advising customers on optimizing performance, reducing costs, operation efficiencies, etc.)
- May also support the dealership efforts with third-party providers (Certified Crop Adviser, Ag Service Provider, etc.) and related John Deere businesses
- Complete a project throughout the internship and report findings to supervisors at the end of the summer.
Experience, Skills and Knowledge that the Intern will improve upon with this opportunity:
- Knowledge of electrical and wireless communication systems
- How to install, calibrate, and operate several precision ag platforms
- Operate with a solutions approach and identify existing/emerging customer needs
- Use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
- Organizational, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an Agricultural undergraduate 2- to 4-year program
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel to store locations and customers
- Ability to work well with other employees and keep a positive attitude at all times
