CMA to work in ASC
The CMA is responsible for the following duties to include, but not limited to: Assist physicians in endoscopic procedures under the supervision of the physician; setting up &/or breaking down patient procedure rooms; assisting clinical team in delivering high quality professional care while achieving optimal patient satisfaction; decontamination and reprocessing of endoscopic equipment; the care and maintenance of endoscopy equipment and other patient care equipment; and assisting the registered nurse, as directed, in the patient admission, recovery, and / or discharge process as necessary.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· BLS certification required
· One year of experience is preferred in a Hospital or Ambulatory GI and/or multi-specialty surgery environment with working knowledge and proficiency in the use and/or reprocessing of endoscopy equipment.
· Knowledge of medical terminology required.
· Solid experience with endoscope reprocessing is preferred.
· Requires effective communication skills, a commitment to providing excellent patient service and professionalism and must be a solid team player.
· Previous experience maintaining equipment a plus.
