About the organization
West Sixth Brewing is a craft brewery and taproom located in downtown Lexington, KY. We focus on producing the highest quality, fresh, delicious craft beer, and sharing it with others by distributing it to other restaurants and bars in the Central Kentucky area. We were the first brewery to can its beer in Kentucky, and distribute flagship and seasonal beers to stores throughout the Commonwealth and across the river in Cincinnati, OH. Finally, we also operate a taproom at our production facility, located in the Bread Box at 501 West Sixth Street; our downtown Lexington taproom, the Greenroom, and our West Sixth Farm location in Franklin County.

About the Position
Frankfort Cantina staff (5-20 hours/week; this could be expanded or lead to full-time for an exceptional candidate)
Our retail locations are a huge part of what we do at West Sixth. The West Sixth Cantina -our food truck stationed at the Farm- is a retail extension of our brand and a big step into furthering West Sixth’s presence in the central Kentucky market.
Cantina cooks will be responsible for prepping food, coordinating with the chef on inventory and daily menu, making excellent food to order, maintaining an orderly work station, providing excellent service to customers in the food truck, and representing our company in a positive manner. This position will be focused on the cooking side of the West Sixth Cantina.
Day to day activities
- Providing excellent service to customers while showcasing an extensive knowledge of our products and brand
- Taking and facilitating the flow of orders in the West Sixth Cantina
- Working with the chef and other cooks to get orders completed in a timely fashion
- Cleaning and maintaining work space
- Fulfilling opening prep as needed
- Maintaining communication (in person and digital via slack/email, etc), and staying up to date on events and info necessary to provide excellent service in the Taproom
