What you can expect as an Interior Finish Technician at West Star :
As an Interior Finish technician you will be responsible for interior finish processes, including wood finishes of assigned aircraft, varying amounts of gloss and satin applications, and sanding of hardwood as needed to apply finish.
Development and completion of aircraft interior cabinet finishes are the primary functions. Job duties will vary by type and scope, as designated by the Finish Team Leader.
You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including :
- Assist with paint and techniques for major modification projects
- Identify colors and color matches as needed
- Basic knowledge in chemicals (thinners, catalysts, cleaners, etc.) And safety procedures.
- Basic knowledge in paints and spraying equipment
- Knowledge of dry sanding and wet sanding, etc.
- Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling
- Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data bases
- Cleanliness of shop and surroundings
- Work independently when required
- Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
- Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
