Job Description :
Position : Western Colorado University invites applications for thefull-time position ofResident Director. The position reports to Residence Life's Associate Director of Community Development & Standards and works closely with Residence Life's Associate Director of Community Wellness and is a full-time, live-in professional responsible for the oversight of a residence hall complex and the students who reside in that building.
Responsibilities : The Resident Director is responsible for all aspects of a residence hall complex housing of approximately 100 to 350 residents. This position is responsible for community development, student staff supervision, implementations of divisional curriculum, advising community council, policy enforcement, coordinating custodial and maintenance, summer conference duties, furniture inventory, on-call duty rotation, and serves on the University conduct team.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience advising, developing, mentoring, and motivating a diverse student staff team
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team
- Must be able to work some evenings and weekends
- Significant student leadership experience in a college / university setting
Preferred Qualifications :
Compensation : $43,888 annually. The position is FLSA exempt. Western offers an excellent benefits package including shared premiums for a comprehensive health insurance plan, dental insurance, retirement plan, life insurance, and other insurance options. After one year of employment, Western provides free tuition for dependents enrolled full time in undergraduate programs for up to four years.
