Join Our Team as a Laborer in our Asphalt Department!

We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our asphalt plant. This position is responsible for performing various duties, including but not limited to ensuring the grounds and structures are in working order and maintaining the mechanical fitness of the equipment such as conveyors, motors and gears, feeder bins, drum mixers, and other related plant equipment. The typical season for this position is April - December.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on plant equipment and follow lock-out/tag-out procedures when making needed repairs.
- Inspect and grease all plant components and ensure they are functioning properly.
- Operate skid steer, man lifts, power tools, and other heavy equipment as necessary to complete the job.
- Clean facilities by sweeping, shoveling, and scraping daily.
- Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic to contribute to a productive and cohesive team environment.
- Have dependable work attendance.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age due to the nature of the work.
- Pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and physical.
- Previous construction and asphalt experience is a plus, but not required.
- Willingness to learn new skills and techniques on the job.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety and job site housekeeping.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.
- Ability to work overtime as required, including some weekends.
Physical Requirements
- Able to physically lift heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) frequently throughout the work shift with or without assistance.
- Frequent walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
- Standing/working on feet for extended periods and walking across uneven terrain, climbing up and down ladders and stairways
- Able to work in extreme weather conditions and elements, including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, etc.
- Frequent exposure to noise, dust, fuel, oil, or other chemicals.
- Able to wear personal protective equipment and any other safety-related equipment.
- Able to work a minimum of 8 hours a day and overtime as required.
