POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dynamic, professional Community Dietitian. Excellent opportunity to join our award-winning network leading the efforts to provide community programs and services to address health-related social needs such as food and nutrition insecurity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide Nutrition Services in Genesee, Orleans and Niagara counties which includes on-site visits, menu development and analysis, nutrition education, and site monitoring.
· Provide Individual and Group Nutrition Services, including a caseload of clients.
· Developing new programs and processes with Management Team
· Oversight of the WNYICC CDC-Plus Recognized Diabetes Prevention Program
· This position will include both field-based and office-based responsibilities. Work From Home / Remote office is an option for office-based responsibilities. Travel may include local, regional, and state-wide for in-person responsibilities and out-of-state for conferences: Weekly travel to Genesee, Niagara and Orleans counties is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in nutrition or dietetics (master’s preferred)
· Must be a Registered Dietitian through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
· Requires New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist (CDN) certification (or eligible to apply)
· ServSafe certification (or will obtain within first 30 days of hire)
· Strong computer/technology skills including: electronic health record, Microsoft Office-Suite, Outlook, and menu analysis software.
· Strong knowledge of diabetes and diabetes prevention, preferred.
· Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community with a track record of building authentic, constructive relationships with others.
· Team player who enjoys working both collaboratively and independently.
· Provides support for assigned Committees of the Board of Directors and the Network.
· Must have a reliable form of transportation, as a significant portion of the programs will be conducted in the field throughout the western New York region.
· Demonstrates excellent customer service on phone, in-person, via email and in all aspects of employment at WNYICC.
· Communicates in a positive manner both internally and externally to partners.
· Assists Team in a wide array of responsibilities from event planning to reports.
