Associate Broker
A motivated and highly efficient professional who is responsible for new business placement and agency development. Someone who can work in a high-volume environment while delivering an unmatched customer experience. Someone who operates with integrity, respect and is proud of their ethics and work product.
What you’ll be doing
- On the job training with a Senior Broker to learn insurance basics, products and capabilities, markets, etc.
- Maintain knowledge of our products and capabilities and understand how these products and capabilities fit into the commercial insurance marketplace.
- Develop retail agency relationships through agency visits, conventions, trade shows, carrier/agency events, and other communication means with your Senior Broker. Travel required 3-4 days per week accordingly.
- Assist in the production of new business to meet established Company goals.
- Review and carefully underwrite new business for placement with binding carrier partners.
- Market submissions to brokerage carrier partners and negotiate terms for quoting.
- Secure new business quotes/terms from markets and assist retail agents in the placement of new business.
- Renewal underwriting/marketing as needed, but in conjunction with the Renewal Underwriter.
- Support Underwriter, Account Managers, and Customer Service Representatives as needed.
- Perform workflow tasks on agency management system, proficiently and accurately as product excellence is the standard.
- Maintain positive relationships with carrier contacts.
- Perform other functions as assigned by management.
What you must have
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. College undergraduate degree preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience in outbound sales.
- Strong verbal & written communication skills to convey professionalism in all facets of the job, both internally and externally.
- Detail oriented, resourceful, and can think critically.
- Highly organized with the ability to handle/prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to travel and engage in outbound marketing endeavors including after business hours.
- Adaptability to changes in processes and procedures.
- Values a team environment.
- An active P&C license within 90 days of hire.
