The Department of Business at Westminster College is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Finance beginning Fall 2024. The successful candidate must have an interest in teaching a wide variety of undergraduate finance courses for the on-campus program. Occasionally, the teaching load may include online courses with asynchronous delivery. All areas of finance will be considered. Prior professional experience in the industry is highly valued. 

Requirements

Essential Functions:

  •   Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods. (Student-centered learning, service learning, online teaching)
  • Academic advising within the major
  • Participation in faculty governance and committee service
  • Maintaining an agenda for scholarly or professional activity, providing information about the Finance major to campus offices (the Registrar, Enrollment Services etc.)
  • Ability to relate to a diverse student population and facilitate individual student learning.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology.

Job Requirements:

Education: An earned Doctorate in Finance or ABD with a firm defense date (preferred). Master’s degree in Finance (required) especially if combined with years of industry experience and prior college-level teaching experience.
