Job Overview
The Activities Director plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our Senior Living Campus. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that cater to the diverse interests and needs of residents, including those with dementia and disabilities. Duties
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that meets the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents.
- Plan and coordinate events, and outings tailored to individual preferences.
- Responsible to supervise a team of activity assistance to provide a variety of activities for our campus of independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing residents.
- Collaborate with residents staff and families to develop activities into residents' care plans.
- Assist residents in participating in activities, providing support as needed.
- Maintain records of participation and feedback to continuously improve activity offerings.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and gather input.
Skills
- Experience in dementia care is highly desirable to effectively engage residents with cognitive impairments.
- Strong event planning abilities to create enjoyable experiences for residents.
- Background in recreational therapy or related fields is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with residents, families, and team members.
- Proficiency in schedule management to balance multiple activities efficiently.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in home community care settings is beneficial.
- A compassionate approach to assisting residents in their daily activities and fostering social connections.
- Experience and certification as an Activity Director in Indiana
