What are the responsibilities and job description for the Juvenile Youth Worker Temp/PT position at Westmoreland County?
As a Juvenile Youth Worker, you will be responsible for the safety and welfare of resident of the Westmoreland County Juvenile Services Center. Responsibilities include appropriate supervisor, coordinator, and implementation of resident activities and functions. The Juvenile Youth Worker will coordinate daily resident activities and functions including meal times, school support, recreational activities, and life skills. The position will implement reinforcement of positive youth behavior and enforce facility rules. The position will also be responsible for the preparation of verbal and written reports.
Qualifications
Candidate must possess an Associate degree in Human Services, Criminal Justice, Administration of Justice, Psychology, Sociology, Education, or a related field. Have a minimum of five to eleven months childcare experience or any combination of education and experience.
Candidate must have the ability to read and follow directions, protocols, and procedures. Ability to use a variety of trained crisis intervention techniques to physically manage an acute acting out youth appropriately, safely, and securely.
Candidate must have and maintain a current valid Pennsylvania's Driver's license. Regulations require candidate be twenty-one years of age. Current FBI, State Police, and DPW Child Abuse Clearances will be required.
