The Westmoreland Intermediate Unit (WIU) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Educational Consultant for the Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) initiative. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in both the implementation and sustainability of an MTSS framework as well as how to integrate academics and behavior. This position is a non-supervisory full-time (200 day) position working with parents, teachers, paraprofessionals, and administration in K-12 and special education.

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and valid PDE certification in special education or related special education field and 3-5 years of teaching experience. The Educational Consultant is a member of the WIU Training and Consulting (TaC) team accountable for providing leadership, professional development, technical assistance, intensive consultation, and the interpretation of Federal and State Special Education Policy and Regulations to administrators, educators, and parents regarding the implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and in supporting the initiatives of the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Members of the TaC team provide the most current, effective instructional strategies to meet the needs of each student in one to three of the areas contained in Pennsylvania’s Comprehensive System of Professional Development (CSPD). Candidate must possess dynamic personality and technology skills/people management qualities for large and small group presentations. The successful candidate must meet all state certification requirements for the duties assigned. EOE
