This position is responsible for the operation of the physical plant along with performing all repairs, adjustments, overhauls, or preventive maintenance tasks on various types of laundry, and physical plant equipment; MUST be able to trouble shoot mechanical and electronic problems quickly, and accurately with a SENSE of URGENCY. Additionally the technician will perform any necessary plumbing, carpentry, welding, or electrical tasks
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Perform PM services and repairs on the following high voltage industrial laundry equipment:
- washing machines
- dryers
- hydraulic pressing machines
- ironers
- folding machines
- elevated rail delivery system
- conveyors
- air compressors
- water pumps
- forklift
- scissor lift
- heat reclaiming system
- boiler systems
- delivery truck lift gates
- dock doors
- bailing equipment
- mig welding
- stick welding pipes and steel plates
- wiring and installing 480v 3 phase motors
- wiring and programming inverters for variable speed motors
- wiring and networking with CAT5 cable
- running electrical conduit and pulling wire for 480v 3 phase
- replace hydraulic lines, pumps, and cylinders
- replace pneumatic air lines, regulators, and cylinders
- plumbing
- accurately monitor chemical inventory and pumping stations
- collaborates and reports to upper management on any related issue
Operate the following equipment
- steam boilers
- rotary screw air compressors
- continuous batch washing machines and dryers
- incoming water and waste water pumping stations
- emergency generator and transfer switch
Qualifications and Skills
- High School, GED, or equivalent plus 2 to 3 years of experience
- Electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, carpentry, and welding skills
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze electrical and mechanical schematics, block diagrams, and flow charts.
- Ability to maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Ability to work in harsh environments – very hot during summer and cold in winter
- Ability to lift moderately heavy objects up to 100 lbs
