Director IT Business Solutions

The opportunity:

The Director, IT Business Solutions will provide technical expertise and leadership to develop integration solutions spanning business solutions, operating systems, applications, and hardware platforms. The position will report directly to the Sr. IT Director and will partner with our Corrugated Business Segment, supporting and collaborating across the enterprise to help deliver One WestRock. This role is critical to help successfully deliver a rapid transformation of systems and data integration to meet a changing technology ecosystem.

How you will impact WestRock:

• Provide leadership in business requirements management for business solutions projects.

•   Willingness to rollup sleeves and engage in business solution activities while managing and leading a team

• Function as a liaison between the business and IT to facilitate the resolution of application issues and involve additional IT resources if needed

• As required, work with the business to:

o   Configure existing systems to maximize user productivity and our ability to service customers

o   Develop functional specs for new software and/or enhancements that will improve productivity

o   Automate repetitive/complicated tasks via scripting or custom software

•  Develop and maintain processes for data migration/extraction from external systems/internal systems
• Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and strengthening relationships with internal or external stakeholders to drive digital automation
• Work closely with the Business Relationship team to understand requirements and develop the right solution in a timely manner
• Develop a high talented team that works across multiple applications when building solutions

What you need to succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields to include Computer Science, IT, IS, or related business experience of 8 years leading IT Business Solutions technical teams, system integrations and ability to work with developers.
• 5 years in the packaging manufacturing industry.
• Experience:
• System integrations and database schema
• Building/supporting interfaces between various software and hardware
• Computer skills with MySQL, ISAM, MSSQL, web building programs, and Microsoft office
• Ability to mentor team members on configurations, customizations, and integration
• Initiative-taking, independent individual that promotes teamwork.
• Demonstrates a commitment to diverse and inclusive culture.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to build and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently and effectively.
• Strong people skills with ability to work and collaborate with employees at all levels

Travel requirements:  15-20%
