What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2025 WMS Summer School Administrator position at Westside Community Services?
Internal Posting : Westside Middle School Summer School Administrator
Dates : June 2 - 20 (no school on Juneteenth - June 19th)
Report to : Jordan Rhodes, Middle School Assistant Principal
Education : Master's degree in Educational Administration and a Nebraska Principal Certificate preferred. Those currently in an administrative program will also be considered.
Position Description : This person will be on site from 8 am until 1 pm each day summer school is in session and will work to ensure that summer school is a successful experience for all students.
The middle school summer school program is an invitation-only program, focused on building students' literacy, math, and social emotional skills. Summer school also provides opportunities for students to develop executive functioning skills and become oriented to middle school.
Position Responsibilities :
- Upfront preparation for summer school, including course content / materials / training, securing teachers and educational assistants, preparing registration materials, overseeing the registration process, and working with student services on transportation.
- Day-to-day management responsibilities ensuring the smooth operation of summer school
- Communication with parents and staff
- Securing guest teachers, as needed
- Handling student needs, including office referrals
- Student supervision during drop off, meals, and dismissal
