The Whatcom County Library System (WCLS) is accepting applications for a part-time Custodian position at the Lynden Library.
SUMMARY: Performs a variety of cleaning tasks: dusting, vacuuming, cleaning windows and bathrooms and other similar duties.

WORKING HOURS: Fourteen (14) regularly scheduled hours per week. The proposed shifts will be Mondays through Thursdays 5:30am - 9am, plus additional unscheduled hours up to 1,222 annually, to substitute for absent custodial staff at Lynden and in other library locations, or for special cleaning projects at Lynden. Successful candidates may be required to adapt to future schedule and/or worksite changes depending on library needs.
QUALIFICATIONS: Requires the ability to work independently and alone in the library during closed hours. Requires the ability to operate cleaning equipment, move furniture and boxes and clean high windows. Work requires considerable physical effort in the handling of materials or equipment up to 80 pounds and/or continually standing or walking 60% of the time. Requires high school diploma and six months relevant experience or equivalent combination. New employees are subject to a CRC (criminal records check) per RCW 43.43.832.
