We're seeking an experienced Service Shop Manager in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to oversee daily operations of our fleet maintenance facility. This role involves supervising staff, managing inventory, and ensuring high-quality vehicle maintenance and repair for our 200 taxi fleet.
Position Summary:
The Service Shop Manager will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our fleet of over 200 taxis in Dallas, including managing all mechanics and body shop personnel. Proficiency in Fleetio is required. You’ll manage vendor relationships to ensure parts and supplies are always available while optimizing costs and inventory levels. You’ll also maintain accurate monthly and quarterly inventory records and create a Preventative Maintenance (PMI) schedule to reduce engine failures and towing incidents. The Service Shop Manager will report directly to the Dallas VP of Operations. Experience in fleet management is a plus.

Key Responsibilities of the Service Shop Manager:
- Oversee and manage daily shop activities
- Schedule, assign, and prioritize tasks for staff
- Recruit, train, and supervise shop personnel
- Address customer inquiries and ensure satisfaction
- Manage inventory, order parts, and maintain stock levels
- Ensure safety compliance and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Monitor shop expenses and prepare financial reports
- Oversee vehicle maintenance and repair to ensure quality and safety standards
- Manage vehicle licensure, registration, and state inspections
- Complete vehicle damage estimates and collaborate with appraisers
Qualifications of the Service Shop Manager:
- Previous experience in a transportation or auto repair shop, with supervisory experience preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; automotive repair certifications are a plus
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and shop management practices
