Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and preventive measures.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the clinic.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques and knowledge of anatomy related to dentistry.
- Experience with dental software such as Dentrix is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with medical documentation practices is essential for maintaining accurate patient records.
- Ability to perform basic dental receptionist duties, including appointment scheduling and patient communication.
- Knowledge of pediatrics is a plus for those working with younger patients.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are critical for managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Good interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and team members alike.
