What are the responsibilities and job description for the Team Engineer position at WheelHouse IT?
Join a team of professionals in a constantly evolving and growing business! WheelHouse IT is one of the largest MSPs in South Florida and has a host of unsolicited awards. If you have a passion for IT, have talent for IT, or have both, then you have found the right place!
WheelHouse IT is looking for an engineer with a proven record of accomplishment in solutions implementation. As a technical leader of the team, you will help to mentor and develop the other technical resources while working with the Team Manager to scope, design, implement and document solutions for a wide variety of clients across many industries. Solutions can range from an email migration to a VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) implementation from scratch; from the deployment of single security service to the implementation of all the solutions necessary to meet rigorous standards like SOC 2 or Hi Trust. Technical team members will have a range of experience and skills to enable the engineer to focus on root causes, and on solutions. Additional specialty resources will also be available to aid the engineer as needed.
What we look for in a candidate:
Culture. We spend a lot of time with each other and prefer that our employees get along. For us, culture is less of the modern corporate definition of aligning on specific business principles (though this is a business, and we must operate with organizational success in mind), and more about ensuring that the people next to each other produce a net positive result in the day-to-day experience. Happy coworkers make life so much better!
Credentials/Experience/Passion/Talent. We group these items together because we believe that quality employees are not cut from the same cloth. Our primary requirement is progress. We can help you to get credentialed along the way. Having talent means you are walking through the door with an excellent problem-solving method that ensures the unfamiliar becomes familiar in an efficient manner. Passion means you are career focused and understand that you may not have all the necessary skills for the roles you seek. Passion might look like having a virtualized environment at home where you have built VMs for practical applications, like home automation, personal file management, web services, etc. Experience is important, but it must be coupled with other attributes because we have learned that experience in IT only matters to the passionate and the talented!
