Telephone Triage Nurse Job Description
Essential Job Functions:
1. Behave in a professional, courteous, and compassionate manner at all times.
2. Provides prompt and efficient patient care.
3. Collect information from the patient to assess their needs.
4. Triages incoming medical calls.
5. Consults with providers about patient care needs.
6. Provide education to patients.
7. Accurately records patient information in the patient’s chart.
8. Follows all regulatory and office policies and procedures.
9. Participates in team meetings.
10. Perform other duties as requested by the Practice Operations Manager, Practice Administrator, or Provider.
Minimum Education Required: High school diploma or GED required; current certification as a Certified Medial Assistant (CMA) or a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
Minimum Years of Experience Required: One (1) year of experience in a medical office setting preferred.
Typical Physical Demands: May require sitting and standing for long periods of time; also bending and stretching. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, operate a computer, vision and hearing must be within a normal range. This position maybe stressful at times and may require irregular office hours.
Key Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Must be detail oriented, willing to learn, responsive, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, EMR knowledge, judgment, and organizational skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.75 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
