Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and organized Office Assistant to join our team at White Rocks
Marina. The Office Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day
operations of our marina’s office. You will be the first point of contact for visitors, assist with
clerical tasks, and provide support to the marina's management team. Ideal candidates are
detail-oriented, customer-focused, and have a passion for providing exceptional service in a
waterfront environment.
Responsibilities
-Front Desk Management: Greet visitors, answer phone calls, respond to emails, and manage
guest inquiries.
-Customer Service: Assist boat owners, visitors, and new customers with reservations, slip
assignments, and general marina information.
-Office Administration: Perform general clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, managing
schedules, and maintaining records.
-Financial Transactions: Process payments for marina services, rentals, retail items, and
maintain accurate records of transactions.
-Scheduling and Coordination: Assist with booking slips (transient, short term and annual)
scheduling marina services, and coordinating events, promotions and customer appreciation
activities as needed.
-Inventory and Supplies: Monitor and order office supplies, retail merchandise, and marina
equipment as needed.
-Facility Management Support: Coordinate with office, yard and service managers, for minor
repairs, dock maintenance, and facility upkeep.
Qualifications
-Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or education in office
administration or hospitality is a plus.
-Experience: Previous experience in office administration, customer service, or a marina setting
preferred.
Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with marina management software (preferred, but not required).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to handle financial transactions accurately and responsibly.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a waterfront environment and around boats.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed, especially during peak season.
