What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Worker - EastSide Charter School Nutrition position at Whitsons Culinary Group?
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for making and serving nutritious meals for students in a safe and healthful manner.
Mon - Fri 8:00AM - 1:30PM-locations/hours subject to change
Assists in preparing of food and have some cooking skills.
- Serves meals to students and staff.
- Performs cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping of floors, cleaning of equipment and work areas, dish & pot washing
- Fills beverage machines & vending machines, sets up hot and/or cold food area.
- Delivers, when necessary, food to staff, students and catering events.
- Prepares and serve food according to menus, ability to read receipes and follow
Prepare Salad Bar & Deli Bar according to program plans
Ability to use a slicer
- Checks and stores incoming supplies.
- Serve Safe Certified a plus
- Participates on safety & training courses as required.
- Attends all mandatory in-service programs and training
- Supports the goals, objective and mission statement set forth by Whitsons.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to speak and read English in order to understand and perform job assignments, including reading and understand recipes.
- Extensive physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting , bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to use POS system
- Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.
- Always present a positive and professional image.
- Basic English Reading and Writing Skills
- Able to Pass Background Screening
- Able to pass strict background screening
- ServSafe Certification a plus but not required
