Food Services Worker

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to students in a safe and healthy environment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food according to menus and portion sizes as mandated by yield guides.


• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, floors, and work areas.


• Brew coffee, refill beverage machines, and set up hot and cold food areas.


• Deliver food to staff, students, and catering events when necessary.


• Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and local health department requirements for safe food handling.


• Adhere to client location security protocols and guidelines.


• Receive and store incoming supplies.


• Follow assigned break schedules.


• Collect and strip trays for dishwashing and participate in ware washing if assigned.


• Store silverware, dishes, glasses, cups, pots, etc.


• Participate on the safety committee.


• Attend mandatory in-service programs.


• Manage point-of-sale/cash handling if applicable for the position.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

• Comply with all Whitsons policies and procedures at all times.


• Support the company's goals, objectives, and mission statement.


• Complete all required training and certification programs.


• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.


• Ability to speak and read English to understand and perform job assignments.


• One year of professional food service experience preferred.


• Always present a positive and professional image.

Work Environment

The work is performed primarily in the kitchen and on the serving line.

• Exposure to extreme temperatures due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.
