The Patient Service Representative (PSR) Team at WholeHealth Chicago champions Practice hospitality and efficient access to Practice resources by patients, families, care providers, and others.

The individual PSR applies customer service skills to triage incoming communications (phone, mail, fax, portal) and linking to the appropriate internal resource/process for resolution. The PSR conducts complete and accurate pre-visit registration and timely scheduling of office appointments following medical practice protocols. The PSR gathers necessary clinical and administrative pre-visit information from patients, care providers, insurance representatives, and others.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

· The PSR enhances confidence in Practice services by serving patients, knowledgeably and accurately, while delivering an excellent Practice experience.

· The PSR applies customer service skills to triage incoming communications (phone, mail, fax, portal) and link to the appropriate internal resources/processes for resolution.

· The PSR conducts complete and accurate pre-visit registration and timely scheduling of outpatient office appointments following medical practice protocols.

· The PSR gathers necessary clinical and administrative pre-visit information from patients, care providers, insurance representatives, and others.

Education: High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience: Though experience in an appointment scheduling position, insurance verification, or customer service position in a medical practice setting is helpful, it is not required. The ability to multitask, work with accuracy and manage time efficiently when volume increases is needed for the role. Word processing and computer experience required.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment with emphasis on telephone and computer hardware/software.

Mental/Physical Requirements: Must possess the physical and mental abilities to communicate effectively with patients and others over the phone, fax, electronic means, and in person. Other tasks normally associated with a Patient Service Representative are mostly sedentary with some standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 10 pounds. Daily and repetitive data entry.
