Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Delivery Driver for our wholesale nursery located in Waimanalo. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting plants and other nursery products to various customers and retail locations. This role requires excellent customer service skills, knowledge of driving, and the ability to handle physical tasks associated with lifting and moving. The Delivery Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a box truck or similar commercial vehicle to deliver nursery products to clients . Load and unload plants, gardening supplies, and equipment using, pallet jacks, or manual handling techniques
- Ensure accurate delivery of orders by verifying items against invoices or delivery manifests
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting clients with loading/unloading and answering questions about products
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the vehicle and delivery area at all times
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies during route driving to ensure safety for self and others
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Assist with warehouse tasks as needed, including inventory management and stock organization
Experience
- Previous delivery driver experience, preferably within a warehouse or nursery environment
- Proven ability to operate box trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual transmission vehicles safely
- Strong knowledge of route planning and driving in various traffic conditions
- Experience with heavy lifting, moving plants or equipment, and handling bulky items is preferred
- Customer service experience demonstrating professionalism and effective communication skills
- Valid
driver’s license with a clean driving record is required - Familiarity with warehouse operations such as load & unload procedures is advantageous
