Job Story
The Molecular Diagnostic Lab is looking for a student technician to help with environmental monitoring tasks.
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
Analyze accidents at work and identify the causes, aiming to prevent accidents at work occurring in the future.
Detect problem areas on environment and adapt existing or develop new procedures, processes and rules for the promotion of the environment with the aim of optimizing the environmental policy within the Company.
Act as secretary and adviser to the Committee on Prevention and Protection at Work, aiming to create ongoing awareness of safety issues among Company and its employees.
Continuously monitor legislation and legislative changes relating to safety and environment and keep up to date knowledge in terms of new developments aiming to be able to offer a service which is always based on up-to-date knowledge, which complies with current legal standards and guidelines; and
Other duties as assigned.
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent
- Be capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and physically demanding environment with extended periods of
- Be able to lift 30 pounds and be able to pass, push, and pull to execute aspects of job duty.
- Be able to repeatedly gown in building dedicated uniform aseptically.
- Possess computer skills in Microsoft Office products and Outlook.
- Possess knowledge of and familiarity with pharmaceutical cleanroom environment and operations.
- Possess exceptional observational skills, ability to think analytically, and attention to detail.
- Be able to lift 30 pounds and be able to pass, push, and pull to execute aspects of job duty.
- Be able to repeatedly gown in building dedicated uniform aseptically.
Preferred Qualifications
Students on the following degree paths (or related): Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering (Biomedical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing), Supply Chain Management, or Data Processing.
Lab Experience in chemistry and/or microbiology
Additional Information
This position is located at Fagron Sterile Services. Applicant must be able to work in an off-campus position.
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
