Wieland is hiring a Large Level Wind Operator. The Large Level Wind Operator. will be responsible for Prepares and utilizes the application of the Large Level Winder Machine to produce acceptable quality tubing per customer specification. Operates equipment safely per standard operating procedure and initiates improvement to safe operations as appropriate. This role is located in Duncansville, PA and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: $18.27 plus $.50 shift differential

Role Title Responsibilities:

Maintains a safe working environment by adhering to all safety procedures and policies, including use of Personal Protective Equipment as required.
• Maintains effective communication with other employees, including supervisor/management and during shift changes.
• Produces material within prescribed tolerances with focus on the "next customer" in a timely manner.
• Interprets Traveler Tickets (or Production Sheets) to determine the necessary adjustments to make on straightener device which aligns tubing for the Eddy Tester and to the wind up. Adjustment by hand without tools.
• Changes coil wind up and changes over pay-off table as required, 32"- 54" and vice versa.
• Maintains accurate records by posting and recording information as needed on traveler tickets and/or daily production sheets.
• Performs proper changes/adjustments to the Eddy Tester and recorder
• Processes material with or without inking depending on specifications. Decides on course of action when reject is detected, to scrap or allow smaller coils.
• Hand loads coils onto pay-off table by sliding off mule. Assisted by helper if necessary.
• Maintains a neat and order work environment.
• Demonstrates proficiency in the various tasks identified on the machine's training evaluation form.
• Able to work overtime as business needs require.

Other Functions:

• Cleans and returns removed tools.
• Attends meetings as required
• Cross-trains in other areas as needed

Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent training as approved by Immediate Supervisor, Next Level Supervision, and Human Resources Department.
• Maintains thorough knowledge of equipment/machine specific SOP's.
• Successful completing of Powered Industrial Truck training
• Where applicable, operations with eddy current test capability require the operator to be at least Level I eddy current test qualified. Until the operator receives Level I qualification, the eddy current operation must be set-up and supervised by a Level I or II qualified operator.
• Demonstrates proficient knowledge utilizing measuring devices.
