Wieland is hiring a Fabricator/Welderto join the team! The Fabricator/Welder will be involved in the daily installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of manufacturing systems, but especially in equipment changes or additions. This is a hands-on position requiring knowledge of mechanical systems combined with strong spatial skills and imagination of the item to build / fabricate. Candidate should have experience with stick, mig and TIG welding.
This role is located in Pine Hall, NC
- Hourly Rate: $19.22 plus shift differential
- Shift: Monday- Friday 7am - 3:30pm

Responsibilities
Fabricator/Welder Job Dutie
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Involved in the daily installation, maintenance, service and repair of a wide variety of manufacturing systems in accordance with sketches, and manufacturer's specifications, using various hand-, power- and welding tools as well as precision-measuring and testing instruments of the maintenance trade
- Fabricates and assembles structural metal products, such as framework or shells for machinery, ovens, tanks, stacks, and metal parts for buildings and bridges according to job order, verbal instructions, and blueprints: Develops layout and plans sequence of operations, applying knowledge of trigonometry, stock allowances for thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and physical properties of metal
- Sets up and operates fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments
- Inspects fabricated parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements and / or verifies conformance of work piece to specifications, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
- Reports time spent, parts used, settings and other job related activities in the CMMS system
- Provides feedback to planners and supervisors in order to improve routine procedures, part availability and job preparation
- Completes repairs and projects in a safe and timely manner, ensuring that all special PPE is utilized according to company rules and policies, following job related SOP’s
- Provides training and feedback to the operators and production supervisors
- Inspects work to assure proper installation, maintenance, and repair of buildings and equipment
- Requisitions supplies, materials, tools, machine parts, and other necessary equipment.

Qualications
- Vocational school training and/or substantial relevant work experience is required
- Must have strong mechanical and spatial skills and knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems combined with excellent welding abilities and fundamental knowledge of all welding procedures and metallurgy
- Must be able to perform frequent repetitive motions of firm grasping, fine manipulation, finger dexterity, bending, lifting, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, standing, negotiating stairs and slippery surfaces in an uncontrolled (hot is summer / cold in winter) environment, occasionally lifting up to 80 lbs
- Must be able to firmly grasp and use hammers, wrenches, and various hand tools during adjustments, repairs, and replacement / change-out operations
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment for assigned duties
- Exposure to lubricants, solvents, and cleaning chemicals
