What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial/Compliance Specialist position at Wilhoit Properties, Inc?
Wilhoit Properties, Inc. is looking for a Compliance Specialist to join our team at our corporate office in Springfield, MO. The selected candidate will have excellent attention to detail, self-motivation, and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Process new/existing resident applications/recertifications to ensure they meet federal and state requirements.
- Maintain excellent client relations by working directly with site staff to process and review qualification cases.
- Organize and analyze supporting financial documentation ranging from bank statements, pay stubs, retirement statements, etc.
- Utilize a keen mind to identify irregularities in the case documents and communicate those oddities to site staff.
- Communicate detailed feedback to site staff in a positive, professional, and organized manner via e-mail and/or within the case notes.
- Strong follow-up and multitasking skills that will lead to successful completion of cases within tight deadlines.
- Adhere to defined procedures, guidelines, and performance standards.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years’ experience in an office setting.
- General knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to multi-task at a high level.
- Ability to develop effective solutions to problems or situations.
- Must be able to communicate effectively via email, Microsoft Teams, and the telephone.
- Proficient understanding of the English language and accurate usage of grammar and punctuation is required.
- Experience in property management, real estate, or banking is highly preferred.

- This position is full-time, Monday- Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- After one year of experience, Compliance Specialists have the opportunity to work remote Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (four days out of five).
