William Penn Care Center is currently looking for a full time Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team in our 155-bed skilled nursing center.
As the Director of Nursing responsibilities will include planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department, in accordance with company policy and all appropriate state and federal regulations. The DON also be asked in participate in facility surveys/inspections from regulatory agencies as requested by the Administrator.
Requirements
- PA state licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with 3 years' experience in nurse leadership of a long-term care setting, or related health care facility.
- Must have knowledge of state and federal regulations
- Registered Nurse with effective leadership & supervisory skills
- Must successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen.

- Serves as leader of the nursing team, responsible for oversight of all nursing services.
- Develop and establish policies and procedures.
- Monitor and supervise facility staff.
- Ensure competency of all nursing personnel.
- Conduct scheduled department meetings.
- Manage recruitment, training, orientation, and evaluation of nursing staff.
- Assure adequate staffing is maintained to meet the needs of each resident.
- Work floor/shift assignments as needed.
- Assist nursing team members in providing care and services.
- Ensure that ancillary services are provided to meet the needs of the residents.
- Lead, assist, coach and provide feedback to nursing team members.
- Promote and encourage harmonious relationships with and among colleagues.
- Ensure open and productive communication among the nursing team.
- Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed
