LPN compensation starts at $28/hour and increases with experience.
Williamsburg Landing, a CARF-accredited life plan community, seeks Full-Time (36 hours/week), Part-Time Plus (30-35 hours/week), and Part-Time (less than 30 hours/week) Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to care for residents in Assisted Living and the Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Licensed Practical Nurses oversee the work of Certified Nursing Assistants, Certified Medication Aides (if applicable), direct emergency response when necessary, assist physicians on the unit as requested, ensure documentation is timely and accurate, and dispense medications as prescribed. Ideal candidates will have the availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, take ownership of their job performance with limited supervision, possess attention to detail and outstanding follow through, and be able to positively relate to residents, guests, and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
Licensure to practice nursing in the Commonwealth of Virginia; ability to read and write effectively in English; two (2) years of nursing experience in an acute care, long-term care, or assisted living setting preferred; CDP (Certified Dementia Practitioner) designation required within the first year of employment; maintain current CPR certification
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Comprehensive knowledge of nursing procedures, theory, and practice with an emphasis on current trends in gerontological nursing; ability to interact well with physicians and other health care professionals; ability to exercise sound professional judgment and respond appropriately in an emergency; ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds; ability to stand and walk for an entire shift and safely lift and transfer residents
