Position Summary and Qualifications:

This position is to observe and record the physical as well as housekeeping conditions of buildings interiors/exteriors, grounds, and all attachments, while being responsible for city/state and the U.S. Housing and Urban Development standards of compliance. The Property Inspector works with Property Managers and the Housing Choice Voucher Coordinator implementing policies concerning lease violations and other related activities. The candidate must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal; as there is daily interaction with tenants and property owners throughout the county.

Time management, multi-tasking, and strong computer skills with the ability to manage databases is necessary. When performing required responsibilities, the candidate will work independently and as a team member. A valid Illinois Driver License is also necessary to perform duties. Certification in Housing Quality Standards and Uniform Physical Condition Standards is required within one year after accepting this position.
