We are seeking a psychiatric nurse practitioner who is longing to be part of a clinical team that is supportive and encouraging of professional growth and development. We are currently seeking part time nurse practitioners who are passionate and motivated to work with children, teens and adults.
We believe in people and supporting our practitioners in their work. All prospective patients are screened by a clinician before an initial appointment is made. You will be a W2 employee, with company contributions towards your taxes and no need to worry about quarterly independent contractor taxes. Strong rates of reimbursement to maximize your income. No need to wait for insurance reimbursements to come in, practitioners are paid ahead of collections.
Position Summary: The primary function of the PMHNP is to provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management to individuals (children and adults). The PMHNP should follow all professional standards and ethics, provide all services in a confidential manner, being aware and thoughtful of the individual’s special needs and circumstances.
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for the psychiatric diagnostic and ongoing medication treatment services for patients.
- Utilize electronic health record and e-prescribe systems to document treatment, prescribe medication as needed and provide ongoing monitoring of patient care.
- Schedule patients on a regular basis as appropriate for their treatment, providing refills as necessary.
- Keep all electronic medical records current and accurate, including use of the electronic scheduling system.
- Coordinate with other involved healthcare providers as necessary and appropriate, make referrals to other supplemental services as needed.
- Manage patient crisis situations following best practices, and in accordance with ethics, laws and regulations.
Essential Job Requirements:
Education & Licensure - Requires a minimum of a Master’s of Science in Nursing, Licensed Registered Nurse, Licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut and PMHNP certification. Active DEA/Connecticut controlled substance registration.
Experience - Clinical experience with psychiatric nursing, including with children and adolescents.
Required Skills:
- Ability to work in a collaborative manner
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage time effectively
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Ability to use various computer systems, including an Electronic Health Record
- Willingness to seek consultation when needed
