Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize patient medical records in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient information by reviewing records for discrepancies.
- Process requests for medical records from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure proper documentation practices are followed.
- Implement and maintain electronic health record (EHR) systems for efficient data management.
- Train new staff on medical records procedures and best practices.
- Conduct regular audits of medical records to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Assist in the development of policies related to medical record management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting, preferably as a Medical Records Coordinator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of healthcare regulations.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other medical records software.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and ethically.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
