Job Summary: The Gillson Beach Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a variety of facility maintenance duties to effectively open Gillson Park for the summer and maintain it during the active season.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Sand sift beach to maintain even waterfront
- Work in tandem with excavator contractor to clear vessel racks of sand and debris
- Build and maintain simple form racks for small vessels
- Redistribute vessels into summer storage spaces
- Remove winter fencing and make adjustments to summer fence lines
- Transport winterized equipment to seasonal spaces
- Clean and configure storage locations for alternate usage
- Actively support the agencys risk management protocol that will effectively control and reduce accidents
- Obey the practical safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the Safety Committee, attend and participate in required safety trainings
- Promptly report all unsafe actions, practices or conditions to the immediate supervisor
- Perform other related duties as assigned, based on agency needs
Required Skills/Abilities (Technology, Mathematical, Language):

Education and/or Experience:
- Prior maintenance or operations experience a plus
- Must be at least 21 years of age
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Frequently required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and taste or smell
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions
- The employee frequently works in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme cold
