DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The ideal candidate will hold DESE licensure in Moderate and/or Severe Special Needs. This position
requires academic, interpersonal and organizational skills. This candidate should be familiar with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and should possess an ability to modify curriculum to meet the academic needs of students. This position requires an individual who can collaborate with staff and who is reflective of their teaching practice.
STRIDES Program Teacher- Special Education program for students with Autism
• Assist students with the development of social and emotional skills and self-regulation skills
• Utilization of an ABA methodology, responsible for all ongoing data collection, discrete trial and use of ACE data collection and goal setting.
• Work in collaboration with school psychologist, district BCBA, classroom teacher, administration and all other related service providers to develop and implement individualized behavior plans and coordinate programming for students.
• Ability to assist student(s) with both academic and social/emotional goals as stated in the IEP
• Act as a liaison between home and school
• Participate in Safety-Care training
• Training of the STRIDES program educational assistants in relevant behavior management and data collection techniques
• Collaborate with the building principal to identify and schedule professional development opportunities to further support the needs of the program.
• Additional duties as requested by Principal, Coordinator of Special Education and/or Director of Student Support Services
