What are the responsibilities and job description for the Orthodontic Dental Assistant position at Wilson Orthodontics?
Wilson Orthodontics is seeking a full-time orthodontic assistant for our progressive and reputable 2 office practice. Prior orthodontic or dental experience is preferred, but not a requirement if you have good hand/eye coordination and enjoy working with both children as well as adults.
Hours are approximately 8:15am to 5:15 PM M-Th with a 1-hour lunch and would include work in both our Durham and Oxford Offices. If you're a team player and this sounds like your type of thing, Don't wait!
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in placing and removing orthodontic appliances, and taking full records under supervision of the Orthodontist
- Perform accurate and efficient procedures to maintain the schedule and patient flow
- Review patient charts, log appropriate patient data and transcribe doctor notes
- Perform laboratory procedures under supervision of an Orthodontist
- Administer the remote monitoring dashboard including review/triage patient scans, respond to direct patient messages, and triage notifications
- Educate the patients on orthodontic care and remote monitoring
- Clean, sterilize, and prepare the equipment and operatory following standard protocols
- Adhere to all infection-control policies and protocols
What You’ll Need:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Dental Assistant certification
- Radiography certification
- CPR certification
