Windermere Home Care is a non-profit organization that provides services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in the Apopka, FL and surrounding areas. We are seeking a Direct Support Professional to work in our Group home nearby.
Job Description:
The Direct Support Professional will provide support to individuals with I/DD in the home, in their community, or in their school. This position supports individuals with tasks such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, transportation, socialization, and other activities. The individual will also assist with self-administration of medications and provide transportation to appointments.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED; Associates Degree preferred
- Ability to pass a level 2 background check
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment; adaptable to change; have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and other staff members both written and verbally
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Minimum of two (2) years experience working with individuals with I/DD and or any kids is preferred but not required.
