Windflower Farm is seeking an experienced, compassionate, live-in horse caretaker with an option for extra, seasonal help in our cut-flower operation (April-November) in our cut-flower operation. Chores include AM and PM turnout, 4-5 days/week: feeding, stall, paddock and pasture cleaning for a small herd of 4-5 horses. Work hours fluctuate with daylight and growing season. Must be able to take full responsibility for horse care during pre-scheduled owner absences. $25/hr DOE. This is an ideal gig for a skilled horseperson with an additional flex or remote job who loves country living. A newly constructed, light-filled, 1-bedroom cabin with patio is available on the farm in Alfalfa, 15 miles east of Bend. The apartment has all new appliances, mini-split heating and cooling, and views of the flower farm. Recreational trails are right down the road in the BLM, Reynolds Pond, and Badlands Wilderness. $1250/mo rent includes all utilities - electricity, Wifi, water, garbage and sewer. No Smoking. Sorry, no dogs. 1-2 cats OK. Board for one horse is negotiable. Excellent references are a must.
