Windows Catering, DC’s premier caterer, is searching for a Sales Assistant who can offer reliable support to the sales team and help improve efficiency as sales volume increases.
Job Description:
The Sales Assistant is responsible for assisting Sales Managers in the sales, administration, office coordination, and planning of events.
Duties and Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Sales
- Acts as liaison between clients and Sales Managers
- Assembles trade show collateral, sales packets, and more
- Conducts tours with prospective clients as directed
- Prepare sales kits
- Answers incoming calls, handles inquiries, and distributes leads as directed
- Handling all client and staff inquiries in an enthusiastic and professional manner
Events Coordination and Planning
- Acts as liaison between Sales and Food & Beverage
- Ensures consistency of information – makes appropriate changes to supporting documents
- Coordinates documents and assists Sales Managers with event planning from conception to post-event follow-up
Administration
- Attends staff meetings as needed
- Maintains office equipment and supplies
- Types, edits, and proofreads correspondence
- Processes incoming/outgoing mail in a timely manner
- Maintains the database
- Revises/updates projections and evaluations
- Prepares daily function schedule
- Assists Catering Sales Managers on special projects and generates reports as needed
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills:
- College Degree preferred
- Prior Sales Experience in Hospitality/Catering
Requirements:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekend and evening hours
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Great attention to detail
- Excellent communications and time management skills
- Intermediate to advanced level skills using MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Professional demeanor and appearance necessary at all times
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be flexible and available to work overtime as needed with minimal notice
- Demonstrated team player with a positive attitude
Position & Work Hours:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Evening and weekend work is required as job duties and on-site events demand.
