Job Summary:
Assemble cushions, slings and pillows to fulfill production orders
Job Functions:
- Operate sewing machine to seam cushions and join various sections of covering material
- Attach ties, hem, surge, quilt, place zippers and splines dependent upon the production schedule
- Attach binding to edges of cut material to prevent raveling
- Notify supervisor of any flaws, defects or shortages for each schedule
- Must be able to understand sewing patterns and fabrics
- Experience with walking foot, single and double needle industrial sewing machines
- Maintain strong sense of urgency in order to meet production deadlines
- High level of attention to detail
- Self-starter with ability to follow a schedule
- High School Diploma
- Some college or combination of education and experience to equal 3 years
- Sitting more than 2/3 of day
- Standing less than 1/3 of day
- Talking/Hearing regularly less than 2/3 of day
- Reaching frequently over 1/3 to 2/3 of day
- Use of hands to finger, handle or feel frequently over 2/3 of day
- Lifting frequently over 20 pounds
- General office environment.
- Workspace is climate controlled
